George Stephenson’s GAWTP (Grassroots America We The People) is doing exactly that by harnessing citizen energy that came to a boil April 15th and focusing that energy for Grassroots change in East Texas and nationwide. George is helping us return to our Constitutional roots where there will be “Change” - not the change we were promised, but change that will extinguish fear and lead thousands of E. Texans to positive action.
Every Friday at 11:30 George holds a lunch meeting at Lakeview Church on the Spur. Every other Saturday a 9 hour class plays to a sold out house. On July 31st he will welcome Sean Hannity to the Oil Palace to rally our constitutionalists, focus our energy and help spread our message nationwide.
Last May 15th, Earl Fowler of NCCS (National Center on Constitutional Studies) brought our Constitution and Founding Fathers back from their graves. Last Saturday, Drew Ryun (son of America’s most famous Miler Jim) and his team at American Majority educated us on precinct organizing techniques using the latest web technologies. A separate “track” worked with over a dozen candidates who will be running for election (or reelection) next cycle - past and present Smith County public servants were conspicuously in attendance.
In my opinion, GAWTP is performing a function that is long over due - that of educating all citizens that it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to run YOUR government. Our Founding Fathers were sternly serious when they wrote “Government OF the People, BY the People and FOR the People”. It is simply not enough to veg out in front of your TV, get brainwashed by broadcast media and then vote for the most popular candidate without knowing anything of substance about him or his plan.
When someone from GWATP knocks on your door, rings your phone or sends an email, seize that moment as our Forefathers seized theirs. The time for you to run your government is long past due.
