Editor’s note: Ken is a member of a Michigan 912 Project group and the Constitutional Liberty Coalition’s Michigan affiliate state site, Grassroots in Michigan. He has been a first-person witness to events within the “Tea Party movement”in his state. We requested his permission to post his piece on our multiple venues  to give voice to the perspective of someone observing these events who has not been directly involved in organizing a Tea Party.

The Tea Party Protests that literally erupted in February of 2009, culminating in a Nation Wide Action on April 15th, 2009 arose in a political vacuum. This political vacuum represents the American electorates’ awakening to the systemic fraud that permeates the two National Political Parties that control the State and Federal Legislatures.
The spontaneous grassroots revolt known as the “Tea Parties” is the largest non controlled political response in America since the days of the Granger protests that challenged the political class in the late 1870’s. The Granger Protests were eventually co-opted by the political class under the “populist” banner, which led to the collectivist movement championed by Theodore Roosevelt in the 1890’s known as the Progressive movement.
Today the Political class that sits in the State Capitols, and the Federal Capitol dome in Washington DC, care for nothing except how they secure their legislative control at the state and federal level. This statutory control has been used to manipulate the political franchise here in America.

Under the guise of reform dating from the days of the “Watergate” in the early 1970’s, the established political class imposed overt statutory regulation of the political campaign as Codified in Title 2 USCA Chapter 14 and the appropriately mirrored state laws.

Campaign spending on a State and National Level is now an administratively controlled operation of Statutory Law. The regulatory authority at the Federal Level is the Federal Election Commission, and the Internal Revenue Service. The State legislature has statutorily incorporated their version of the Federal Election Commission here in Michigan under the administrative hand of the Secretary of State.

The Grassroots Tea Party movement challenges this overburden of State and Federal administrative regulation, and attracts elements of the statist who view the Tea Party movement as a political opportunity to be co-opted under the color of law.
Here in Michigan, the Secretary of State is statutorily authorized to regulate State election campaigns, and State Political Committee funding. The states of the America statutorily regulate (CONTROL) the electoral process by regulation of funding, and the candidate itself.

One administrative control is the political committee, which is registered under Federal Internal Revenue Code, and with the appropriate state regulatory agency within the State for all campaigns. Why the necessity of the political committee registering with the Internal Revenue Service? Federal tax policy subsidizes campaign spending, by statutorily providing deductions to regulated campaign committees. These federal regulated state and federal political committees move under Title 26 USCA Subtitle A Chapter 1 Subchapter F Part VI § 527. Why would any sitting elected political bureaucrat show concern for the electorate, when their financial contributors come a calling for their due?

Look up the local state or federally elected political bureaucrat, and review their own personal political committee. Take note of the Corporate Political Committee funding, and ask why? The answer is TARP (Troubled Assets Relief Program), CAFR, (Comprehensive Annual Financial Report) and the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act.

Read the State’s CAFR and take note how the State Legislature’s have statutorily enacted legislation that accepts billion of federal dollars a year. Herein Michigan the State received over twelve billion federal dollars for the 2007 fiscal year, to fund the welfare state administered by State employees. What the elected state political bureaucrats fail to acknowledge is that with federal dollars come FEDERAL CONTROL.
Title 26 USCA Subtitle A Chapter 1 Subchapter F Part VI § 527 is a federally controlled political organization. The State Tea Party’s that are regulated by the Internal Revenue Service, when they secure a “527” designation, are not a grassroots organization. The “527” Political Committees that carries the name as a Tea Party group, are now in the hands of professionally motivated political hacks, which are going to co-opt the Tea Party grassroots movement to further their Political Class ends, which is not concurrent, with our grassroots goal of politically reforming the corrupted State and Federal Governmental political class.

Now, the solution to the systemic corruption of the Federal Government stands under the State’s Capitol domes. The Federal Government’s manipulation of the State political class requires said state political class to enact comingling legislation that is fed with federal dollars. When federal dollars flow, so does federal control.

The point regarding the political class is they stay in power by co-opting any popular opposition. In the instant case here in Michigan and throughout America with the Tea Party protests, is the political class successfully has infiltrated it. Here in Michigan it’s the Mackinac Center for Public Policy which has wormed it’s in with the assistance of Americans for Prosperity’s Michigan Chapter. The Mackinac Center for Public Policy, and American’s for Prosperity’s Michigan Chapter, are populated by seasoned bureaucrats of the political class operating in Lansing. The proof of this is the Tea Party Convention being arranged for June 13th, 2009 in LANSING by these two aforementioned political class institutions, who have successfully established themselves within the Tea Party movement as though they are “grassroots supporters”, when the fact is they are political operatives of the political class.

This is why we need to understand that many Tea Party groups throughout the country have become a cauldron of political hacks, for when you register as a Political Committee with the Internal Revenue Service, the service administratively controls the organizational structure. This requires what is now known as a “527 Group” to create a committee of the whole, which then delegates to subcommittees such as steering, administrative, financial, and so on. The Tea Party Groups that now carry the “527 Group” designation, are federally administered political committee. The sad thing is the local State Citizen will not know this statutory fact, and rest assured the administrators of these Tea Party “527” groups will not disclose that fact. These Tea Parties “527” Group’s have found a way to profit off the Tea Party grass roots phenomena.

So, Grassroots organizers are rightfully frustrated, as many of their original organization associates are now moving within the political class circles, which is not the way to overcome the systemic fraud of entrenched political corruption.

The American Family Association is another “501c(3)” group, which is riding the Tea Party for funding, funding, and more funding for its political agenda. This is why the American Family Association has opened up a page for “tea party organizers” to list themselves. Take note the Tea Party page, only allows the participants to post themselves as an organizer, not as a supporter. This is a deliberated tool of the American Family Association to flatter participants and directly encourage other tea party participants to donate to its political committee.

This American Family Association is a political group which funds itself off dissent to fund its “501 c (3) group”. The American Family Association has no intention of rocking its “501 group” standing, which means it will never address the administrative corruption of the Department of Health and Human Services Child Protection Services division.

These Political committees that carry the “527 Group” designation are no different than the Moveon.org, which is a “527 group All these “527 groups” data mine email addresses which then they then utilize to solicit funding whilst promoting its membership lists as a political tool to curry favor with the entrenched and corrupted political class. These political favors are presented to hard working Americans as “reform”.

Ron Paul and Barrack Obama proved the profitability of mining email for funding. Ron Paul still has his presidential political committee funds which now are his to use as he sees fit.

When you apply to the Federal and or State for recognition as a political funded group, you have lost your liberty, and now are part of the problem. This is why we are keen to expose these federal and state controlled political committees for what they truly are; a cauldron of political hacks looking to profit off our grassroots Tea Party dissent.

It is unfortunate that many of these Tea Party Group’s are a federally recognized political committee, which substantiates they are now part of the problem and will leach the ideals of the Tea Party protest. Grassroots organizers recognize this fact, and feel betrayed by such an organization. These Tea Party groups that now stand as “527 “federally controlled political committees claiming to be part of the Tea Party grassroots civil revolt are not what they claim to be.

Glen Beck’s presentation on the thesis of We Surround Them, is to show the political class, that we here in America have the ability to control our State and Federal political structure.

The reality is the We Surround Them Groups have shaken up the political class. The Political class throughout the States, and in Washington D.C., will move whatever means they have to stop, infiltrate, co-opt, and manipulate the We Surround Them groups and the Tea Party groups.

We need to be diligent. Grassroots State Tea Party Organizers and Glenn Beck 912 Meetup Group members have stepped into the arena of real politics where our intended goal is to civilly overthrow the political corruption that sits under the State and Federal Capitol domes.

The Tea Party and 912 We Surround Groups are in the midst of a political war, wherein the political class controls the governmental structure, and the media, but not our Liberty, unless as some of the state Tea Party groups have, and the American Family Associations have shown, one volunteers for statutory privileges as a Federal Regulated Political Committee.

I know well my rights come from God, not some sanctimonious federal or state bureaucrat granting a statutory privileged as a “regulated political committee”. The regulated political committee designation is a mantle for funding members of the political class, whose goal is secure the status quo of the State and Federally entrenched political corruption of the American Republic.

The fact is these “527 groups” are political committees, funded for a purpose. One particular group here in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has shown it has no understanding to the historic Tea Parties of 1773, where tea dumping parties had been held in every port where the East India Tea Company had ships laden with Tea from India. The Tea Parties were a grassroots political response without governmental sanction to the British Crown’s tax policies.

The members of the State Grassroots Tea Parties and the many 912 groups, I believe come together for the purpose of learning how to civilly move the political process to overcome the corrupted political class that controls the Legislatures that sit under State and Federal Capitol Dome.

The Political class, (elected and appointed state and federal civil service members) is an entrenched and corrupted political bureaucracy that knowingly usurps constitutional limitation whilst attempting to abridge our God Given Unalienable Rights with statist disdain.

I believe we need to stay focused, and be very aware that in this short time of months, we herein Michigan, and throughout America have shaken up the political class to the extent that they move quickly to co-opt grass roots protestations. These “527 groups” that now appear here and there carrying the banner of a “Tea Party” are now instruments of the Political Class, and administratively controlled by state and federal laws that the political class has enacted to entrench their statist usurpation of the American Republic.
